The Work You Will DoThe Attorney Supervisor position is responsible for supervising attorneys who perform administrative prosecutions for violations of construction and electrical licensing law. This includes violations of Chapters 489 and 455, Florida Statutes, and various other practice acts. The Attorney Supervisor assigns cases and provides guidance to supervised attorneys regarding the law, strategic approach, and prioritization. The candidate will analyze, communicate case management goals, and monitor work product.
YourSpecific Responsibilities
- Provide training and guidance to attorneys within the Construction Industry Licensing Board Legal Unit.
- Supervise employees, including attendance, leave approvals, employee evaluations, recruitment, selection, development, and motivation.
- Analyze investigations for violations of statute or administrative rule for regulated professions.
- Recommend appropriate action, including finding of probable cause.
- Draft administrative complaints and closing orders.
- Present recommendations to probable cause panel.
- Prosecute administrative complaints at the Division of Administrative Hearings or before the department's designated informal hearing officer or Board.
- Determine if emergency action, including licensure suspension or restriction, or remedy in circuit court is required.>
- Conduct civil and administrative litigation on behalf of the state agency in all judicial forums as requested and required by law.
- Make oral presentations and litigate.
- Manage people.
- Communicate points of law and regulatory policy persuasively and concisely.
- Draft legal documents.
- Manage multiple legal cases.
- Work independently and in groups and team settings.
- Utilize problem‑solving techniques.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Multi‑task and meet competing deadlines.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Travel.
- Recognize and act on emerging issues and shifting priorities.
- Know Chapter 120, Florida Statutes.
- Maintain a good standing membership with The Florida Bar.
- Have at least two years of experience in the practice of law.
- Have a valid Driver's License.
