Position Overview
As a Machinery Mechanic, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment in our manufacturing facility. Your work ensures equipment uptime, reduces downtime, and supports overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of manufacturing equipment.
- Determine position level based on experience, technical proficiency, and skill set.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using tools such as calipers, micrometers, vibration analyzers, and multimeters.
- Install new machinery or equipment upgrades according to technical drawings and manuals.
- Adjust and calibrate equipment as required for production needs.
- Maintain maintenance logs and accurately document repair activities in the CMMS.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve machine efficiency.
- Follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols during all repair and maintenance work.
- Assist in other departments and perform any other duties assigned.
- Participate in and support the plant safety program.
- Adhere to regular attendance requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a machinery mechanic or industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment (trainee role requires 1 year of experience or technical certification).
- Proficient with mechanical systems, tools, and repair techniques.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and technical drawings.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and safety-first mindset.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and crouch for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull tools, parts, or equipment up to 50 lbs.; occasional heavier lifting with assistance or hoists.
- Work in tight or confined spaces, on ladders, platforms, or scaffolding.
- Regular use of hands and arms to reach, handle, grasp, or manipulate tools and machinery components.
- Requires fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for adjustments and repairs.
- Visual acuity required to read schematics, gauges, and inspection tools.
- Tolerate loud noise, vibrations, dust, heat, cold, and other environmental factors.
