ASM Equipment is an industrial machine shop and fabrication company in Holt, Florida, building heavy-built equipment for the sawmill and wood-products industry. They are hiring a Lead CNC Machinist: an experienced machinist who can run both manual lathes and CNC equipment, work from prints, and take ownership of part quality from setup through finished, inspected parts.

You will run your own setups on Haas vertical machining centers, a Hwacheon CNC lathe, manual engine lathes, and a Bridgeport mill, in a shop that puts quality first. Pay is $25–$32 per hour depending on experience, with room to negotiate for a highly skilled machinist.

• Perform your own setups and operate manual lathes, CNC mills, and the CNC lathe
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and work orders, including tight-tolerance callouts (GD&T), and plan the machining sequence
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds; load, edit, and fine-tune CNC programs at the Haas control
• Hold tight tolerances and verify work with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators
• Run first-article and in-process inspection; deburr and finish parts to spec
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep a clean, safe, organized work area
• Support the fabrication team as needed and help keep jobs moving on schedule

• Haas VF-10 (CAT 50) and Haas VF-4 Super-Speed (CAT 40) CNC vertical machining centers
• Hwacheon CNC lathe
• Lion CU-730 and LeBlond manual engine lathes
• Bridgeport manual mill
• Supporting shop equipment: drill press, tool setter, and saws

• Proven machining experience on both manual lathes and CNC equipment (roughly 3+ years preferred)
• Comfortable running a Haas control and doing your own setups with minimal supervision
• Strong blueprint reading, shop math, and use of precision measuring instruments
• Dependable, safety-minded, and takes ownership of the quality of your parts
• Able to stand for extended periods, lift and position materials and tooling, and work safely in a machine-shop environment

• CNC program editing and writing (Haas/Fanuc)
• Sawmill or heavy-industrial equipment experience
• Welding and fabrication familiarity

Pay is $25–$32 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time, day-shift role, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as workload requires.
