Associate Pastor

Bea Church is a growing, gospel-centered independent Baptist congregation of approximately 350 in Key Largo, Florida, seeking an Associate Pastor to join its team. Since moving into its new facility on Florida Bay in 2021, the church has more than doubled in membership and celebrated approximately 200 baptisms. Located in the northern Florida Keys, Key Largo offers a unique setting for life and ministry, with boating, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park nearby.

Bea Church is committed to turning unbelievers into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and operates on the conviction that every member is a minister.

The Associate Pastor will serve alongside Senior Pastor Steve Vetter, who has served at Bea Church since 1996. The church is seeking a pastor with a “whatever it takes” attitude who brings vision, energy, initiative, and a servant’s heart to ministry. This is both an equipping and hands-on leadership role. The Associate Pastor will collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor and staff while helping members discover, develop, and live out their calling.

• Preaching at least once per month
• Building strong relationships within the church and Key Largo community
• Discipling new believers and helping them grow in their faith
• Equipping and encouraging ministry leaders and volunteers
• Casting vision and strengthening existing ministries
• Providing pastoral care and some counseling
• Supporting outreach and evangelism in a highly transient community
• Serving wherever needed with humility and flexibility

Candidates must affirm Bea Church’s foundational beliefs, including:

• The Bible is inerrant and the final authority for faith and belief
• One God eternally exists in three co-equal persons:
  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
• The virgin birth, deity, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ
• Salvation is by grace through faith alone
• The eternal security of the believer
• The indwelling presence and power of the Holy Spirit in every believer
• Marriage is the union of one man and one woman, with Scripture serving as the church’s authority regarding sexuality and gender

Bea Church offers active ministries for children, students, men, women, marriages, and families. Its Tuesday youth ministry regularly reaches 50–60 teenagers, and the church supports 21 missionaries and mission projects each month.
