Hiring Registered Nurses for the Mother Baby Nursing Unit. The Mother Baby Unit (MBU) at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System provides exceptional postpartum care for mothers, newborns, and high‑risk antepartum patients with a strong focus on bedside education to empower families.

• 36 hrs per week shift time 6 pm‑6:30 am
• Provide complex medical care to both postpartum mothers and newborns.
• Teach families how to care for their newborns with confidence and support recovery and transition.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team including Charge Nurse, Lactation Specialist, OB Hospitalist, Pediatric Intervention RN, Child Life Specialist, Clinical Pharmacist, and Case Manager.
• Cross‑train in other specialty areas within the Women & Children’s Division for career advancement.

• Registered RN licensed in Florida.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
  Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) must be completed within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Require Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days of hire.
• Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
• Require OB/Neonatal certifications maintained throughout employment:
  Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification, Maternal‑Newborn Nursing Certification, Low Risk Neonatal Certification, any Lactation Certification.
• BLS:
  Basic Life Support/CPR required.
• ACLS:
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.

• BSN:
  Bachelor of Science Nursing
• Preferred certification in nursing specialty area.

Hourly rate determined by experience, education level, and internal equity. Minimum rate $32.50, maximum $51.00. Certification pay of $1.50 available for positions requiring approved certification.
