Ultimate Float Team – Registered Nurse (RN)
Our Ultimate Float Team provides skilled, patient-centered care across 20+ units at the Sarasota Campus, with opportunities to float to specialty units such as ICU, SMH Venice Campus, Pediatrics, and Cornell.
Patient Population &Key Responsibilities
Patients requiring complex nursing assessment and care, including but not limited to:
- Orthopedic & Trauma Care – fractures, orthopedic abnormalities requiring surgical intervention, traction application, splinting, and skeletal immobilization.
- Neurological Care – acute traumatic brain injuries with potential ventriculostomy management.
- Cardiac Care – titration of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, etc.).

- Respiratory high acuity pts:
Asthma, COPD, Pneumonias, CF, Pleural Effusions, Bipaps - Rapid Response Patients transferred from other floors
- No surgeries

- Cardiac and medical overflows
- Telemetry including cardiac and insulin drips

- Pre & post cath. Pts, pacemaker/ AICD pts CIWA pts, GI Bleeds, Altered mental status pts

Pre & Post heart Cath, pacemakers, AICD, Cardioversions, Ablations

- Acute Stroke, Neurosurgery-Spine & Brain, Complicated Seizures
- Epilepsy Monitoring
- Myasthenia Gravis, Guillain Barre, Post Brain Embolization, Spinal Surgery, Laminectomies, Craniotomy
- Cardiac Arrhythmias, Chest Pain, Pre & Post Cath Patients
CYT Cardiac Acute Care Unit & Remote Telemetry
Bed Base:

Patient Population:
- Cath lab post-procedure patients many of whom have A-lines and temporary pacemakers as well as some med-surg telemetry patients.
- Coronary Stents, Mitral Clip Insertion, Watchman Procedure, Cross Septum Ablations
- Congestive Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarctions, CAPD/CCPD
- Temporary Transvenous Pacemakers, Permanent Pacemakers, Venous/Arterial Sheaths, Pre-open Heart Patients
- The Cardiac Transport Nurses, Code Blue Nurses, and the Remote Telemetry room are also part of our floor.
- Unit Surgeries:
Post procedure patients, mainly from Cath lab with some coming from IR

- Thoracic surgeries, Cardiac Intervention Unit
- Chest Tubes
- Pacers, Central lines, Insulin gtts, TAVR, Vascular Surgeries
- Temporary Pacemaker, Epicardial wires, high volume pain unit- PCA pump, epidurals, tube feedings

- Post-op open heart
- Average length of stay 48hrs so fast past environment. Wide variety of diagnosis.

- Respiratory/Uro/Renal
Hourly rate is determined by years of work experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $32.50, maximum of salary range is $51.00. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.
Required Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Basic Life Support/CPR - FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
