School Nurse

Are you a compassionate, dedicated nurse with a special place in your heart for children? We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled Consulting School Nurse for a contract role in the healthcare industry. This unique position offers the opportunity to provide essential healthcare services to students in a school setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing health services to students, staff, and visitors, promoting health education, and implementing health policies within the school.

This role requires a combination of clinical expertise and a deep understanding of pediatrics, with a strong commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of students.

Contract school nurse role with consistent hours/schedule M-F 7:30 - 3:30pm

• Providing direct healthcare to students, including administering medications, providing first aid, and managing chronic diseases.
• Collaborating with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic health conditions.
• Promoting and implementing health and safety policies within the school setting.
• Providing health education to students, staff, and parents on various topics, including nutrition, physical activity, and disease prevention.
• Monitoring immunization records and conducting health screenings.
• Serving as a liaison between the school, home, and community regarding health-related issues.
• Participating in the development and implementation of emergency response procedures.
• Advocating for the physical, emotional, and social health of students.

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current valid license.
• Must have a National Certified School Nurse (NCSN) certification or equivalent.
• Must hold a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification or similar.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
• Must be CPR and BLS certified.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Must have strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Must have a strong commitment to promoting health and wellness in a school setting.
