FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send independent contractors to conduct inspections. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. We contract with inspectors at a county level, so the inspector is responsible for all inspections in their county.

• Complete daily inspections typically in 5–6 minutes.
• Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Submit a short form in a mobile app.
• Spend extended periods driving and making numerous stops throughout the day in the assigned territory.

• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. You earn the equivalent of about $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county type (urban or rural) you typically complete 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties pay higher rates. Work is consistent month to month, and you can earn more as you become established or cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
