Senior or Staff Scientist, Perturb-seq - Foster , CA; San Francisco BayArea)

Illumina seeks a Senior or Staff Scientist to lead high-throughput perturb-seq experiments for target discovery and validation. The role involves designing genome-wide functional genomics studies, building laboratory infrastructure, and collaborating with academic partners to identify therapeutic targets using integrated human genetics and sequencing data.

• Build laboratory infrastructure and team for high-throughput sequencing experiments
• Design, develop, and validate quantitative cellular assays to credential novel targets
• Collaborate with academic and clinical partners to integrate human genetics and sequencing data for hypothesis generation
• Present scientific results at conferences and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals

• Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field
• 4+ years of post-doctoral or industry experience
• Expertise in high-throughput sequencing assays and single-cell sequencing
• Proficiency with CRISPR, cell culture, and iPSC model systems
• Demonstrated innovation and scientific rigor with publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Experience in target identification and validation workflows

Compensation: $135,400 - $203,200 base
