Substitute Lunchroom Worker

Job Summary

Substitute Lunchroom Worker at Liberty County School. Perform routine manual work necessary for preparation and serving of nutritious and attractive meals in accordance with regulations.

• Prepare and serve food using standardized recipes and clean areas and items assigned by the Manager.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and other supplies.
• Serve in any capacity which may be necessary.
• Take proper care of equipment and facilities.
• Demonstrate proper health and sanitation practices.
• Serve on cafeteria line as assigned using proper portion control.
• Communicate well with Manager, students, staff and administration.
• Observe all safety rules and report any accident to the Manager.
• Participate in ongoing in-service programs.
• Work independently or as a team member.
• Work cooperatively with other workers in a professional manner.
• Display a pleasant attitude toward students.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters.
• Follow all school and food service policies.
• Follow attendance, punctuality and proper dress rules.

• Knowledge of and ability to operate food service equipment.
• Ability to work harmoniously with school staff, students and fellow workers and provide friendly food service to participants.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and demonstrate skill in cleanup and serving food.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and to stand for long periods of time.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous food service experience preferred.

• Light work:
  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
• May be medium or heavy work depending on the particular assignment.
• Sit, stand and walk for required periods of time.
• Reach/handle objects.
