Pay: $ 21/ hour

Job Summary:

As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of high-quality dishes in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner. You will work closely with our culinary team to ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and standards, contributing to our guests' overall dining experience.

Basic

Job Duties:
  • Wash, peel, cut, chop, slice, and prepare cooking elements meal preparation during a shift.
  • Responsible for storing items in the refrigerator, covering items left in the open air, and preparing special food elements ahead of time so that they can be quickly accessed and used in cooking.
  • May be responsible for preparing a certain portion of a dish.
  • Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area throughout shift.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of station. Break down and clean station thoroughly every day.
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products to par. Label, day dot, and sign all products. Obtain Chef/Manager signature on all products.
  • Must be dressed and well groomed in Company approved uniform at all times.
  • Observance of all SRC Polices and Procedures.
  • Must wear approved manufacturer certified slip resistant or non-slip shoes at all times while working
  • Must have open availability
  • Create prep lists daily- communicating with sous chef & executive chef
  • Training new team members
  • Daily maintenance of the walk‑in fridge/freezer
Education/ Experience/

Skills:
  • Previous experience as a Prep Cook supervisor or in a similar role required.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
  • No regular travel requirements.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of kitchenware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage etc. weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Standing for the duration of a 6+ hour shift with appropriate breaks.
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean workstations, move garbage, etc.
  • Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to move food items, equipment, etc.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
  • Constant bending, stooping and turning, etc.
  • Constant exposure to hot and damp temperature fluctuations
