The Kitchen Prep team member is responsible for preparing ingredients and food items according to established recipes and kitchen standards. This position helps ensure the kitchen is properly stocked, organized, and ready for daily restaurant operations while maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and food items by washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, measuring, and portioning as needed.
Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food preparation instructions.
Prepare food items for use by cooks and other kitchen team members.
Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
Monitor food quality and report any concerns to the kitchen supervisor or manager.
Keep workstations, equipment, utensils, and preparation areas clean and sanitized.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene requirements.
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food deliveries as needed.
Maintain adequate supplies of prepared ingredients throughout the shift.
Assist with general kitchen duties, including cleaning and dishwashing, when needed.
Work cooperatively with kitchen team members to ensure efficient operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This position works in a commercial restaurant kitchen where exposure to hot surfaces, sharp utensils, wet floors, and varying temperatures may occur. Proper safety procedures and the use of required protective equipment must be followed at all times.
