Job Summary
Job Purpose
Assists in the daily operations of the bakery department. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing the backgrounds and experiences of the team.
- SERVICE: 60% – Creates an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated, ensures product availability, freshness, quality and value at shelf, offers product samples, answers questions, assists customers in finding or selecting products, and fulfills customer requests and special orders.
- LEADERSHIP: 20% – Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating information. Adheres to all laws and company guidelines.
- FINANCIAL: 10% – Maintains awareness of inventory/stocking, reports discrepancies, inspects products for quality and freshness, prepares, packages, labels, and displays products. Uses planning tools to produce fresh products and follows discard/markdown processes to reduce shrink. Maintains proper temperatures and documents temperature logs as required.
- COMPLIANCE/SAFETY: 10% – Maintains safety, proper food handling, sanitation and productivity standards. Follows regulatory requirements (USDA & COOL/DOA). Executes recalls/withdrawals promptly, reports safety risks, and ensures safety training. Adheres to wage/hour policies and fosters a culture of safety. Ensures equipment is in good repair and reports hazards.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Required
- Must be 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Operate bakery equipment (e.g., slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun) according to company guidelines

Experience:
0-3 yrs minimum
- Must be 18 years of age (listed above)
- Strong customer service skills
