supervise a team of environmental specialists that conduct environmental reviews to support fdot project delivery. Interact with key environmental agency staff, and other fdot partners to enhance environmental programs for transportation. Develop environmental procedures, guidance, and training.

your specific responsibilities
  • supervises employees by spending majority of time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees' work. Participates in florida department of transportation (fdot) office of environmental management (oem) functions as related to fdot's assumption of the federal highway administration's (fhwa's) responsibilities under the national environmental policy act (nepa), pursuant to 23 united states code (u.s.c) 327. Manages the development and implementation of environmental policy, procedure, guidelines and training consistent with florida department of transportation (fdot) efficient transportation decision making (etdm) and the project development and environment (pd&e) project delivery processes.

    Provides technical assistance to districts, consultants, and other agencies by providing leadership, guidance and support in transportation plan and project development involving public involvement, sociocultural, tribal, aristological, historic and natural environmental issues. This responsibility includes staff supervision, collaborative development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and quality assurance to ensure department compliance with the national historic preservation act, the national environmental policy act (nepa) and other legal authorities addressing the effects of…
