Location: Tallahassee
This Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analyst position in the Florida Geological Survey's Geological Investigations Section conducts environmental and geological research and mapping to support responsible use and understanding of Florida's natural resources. The role develops GIS data and projects, maintains databases, creates field mapping applications, and provides technical support for geologic mapping publications and online products.
Key qualifications:- At least 2 years of verifiable related experience in GIS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; post-secondary degrees in social or natural sciences may substitute for required experience
- Skilled in ArcGIS Pro and GIS software with knowledge of database design and cartographic principles
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret scientific/technical data and communicate technical information effectively
- Valid Driver's License and ability to travel and perform field work
