PositionWe are seeking a highly organized Personnel Security & Information Security Specialist to support the JTF‑GTMO collateral and SCI Security Programs. This multifaceted role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, ensuring the security and integrity of personnel, information, and operations. This position is a full‑time, onsite role. An active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
Location and Work SiteThe role requires work primarily at the JTF‑GTMO HQ, with visitor reception and badging operations performed at the Badging Office (Building 611) and media destruction activities at the Installation Services Building (Media Destruction Center).
ResponsibilitiesThis role encompasses both Personnel Security and Information Security duties, including but not limited to:
Personnel Processing- In/out‑process assigned and attached personnel, including executing non‑disclosure agreements, conducting indoctrinations/initial security briefings and debriefings, and creating and updating local personnel security records/files.
- Establish/disestablish appropriate security relationships in the personnel security system of record (e.g., DISS, SC, etc.) and update records as required.
- Clearance Management:
Process incoming and outgoing clearance certifications/visit access requests (e.g., VAR, PERMCERT, etc.) within 3 business days. Input all incoming request information into the government‑approved database/repository.
- Immediately notify the government PERSEC Manager upon receipt of any derogatory, conflicting, or questionable data from security entities, counterintelligence, criminal investigations, or other sources.
- Review submitted security investigative paperwork for completeness within one business day of receipt. Initiate and submit investigations to OPM using e‑QIP processes.
- Prepare and maintain security clearance investigation status reports/rosters and access badge reports/rosters.
- Update the government‑approved database/repository with required personnel security information (e.g., clearance data, investigation type/date, access level, etc.) for all personnel issued a JTF‑GTMO security badge, including visitors, assigned, and attached personnel (visitor or picture badge).
- Input security incident information into the personnel security system of record (e.g., DISS, SC, etc.) and track reports of incidents within one business day of receipt.
- Create and maintain electronic and hardcopy personnel security records/files (active and inactive); destroy local files in accordance with applicable records management disposition instructions.
- Process SCI eligibility, nominations, and polygraph requests within two business days of receipt.
- Process pre/post foreign travel forms.
- Issue security access badges in accordance with local policy and PERSEC SOPs. Conduct badge inventories. Maintain expendable badging supply inventory.
- Brief visitors on JTF‑GTMO security procedures, including escort requirements, protection of classified information and CUI, and use of media and electronic devices, and prohibited items. Brief JTF‑GTMO escorts on their responsibilities.
- Complete security clearance verification requests within 2 business days of receipt (e.g., clearance verification letter, DD Form 2875, etc.).
- Assist with conducting internal assessments using established checklists; evaluate marking accuracy through document sampling; document results/findings; document on‑the‑spot corrections and recommend corrective actions to assess the overall health of the security program in support of the Command self‑inspection program.
- Ensure classified information is properly marked.
