The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Position Police Officer (GS-0083-07) to work at the 96 TW, 96 MSG, 96 SFS at Eglin Air Force Base. The primary purpose of the position is to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect and investigate crimes, arrest or apprehend violators, and perform patrols within the assigned jurisdictions.

Eglin Air Force Base. Typical 2026 salary range: $54,314 - $70,609 per year (including locality). Telework Information:
Position not eligible for telework. Travel Requirements:
Up to 25% travel possible. Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.

Must have one year of armed law enforcement, corrections, or security experience.

• Ability to use firearms in emergency situations.
• Ability to use automated information systems to enter and extract data and to prepare reports.
• Knowledge of emergency services, tactics, and procedures, including weapons and chemical agents, negotiation, building layouts, terrorist threats and counter terrorism methods, search and rescue techniques, crowd and demonstration control, etc.

• Perform the full spectrum of police officer duties within assigned jurisdictions
• Conduct Investigations & Surveillance
• Perform duties as a Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller
• Perform emergency response and incident command and control

PROBATIONARY PERIOD STATEMENT: (Required) – For All Positions Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Secret" security clearance.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and maintain fitness standards.

Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
