Fire Protection Inspector
Allied Fire Protection – Tampa, FL
Salary: $74,000.00 - $ (based on experience)
Job Responsibilities- Perform inspections of fire sprinkler systems in structures.
- Document inspection findings accurately.
- Develop knowledge of NFPA standards and related materials.
- Maintain RME‑I license and obtain TCEQ backflow license (B‑PAT).
- Inspect sprinklers:
Wet, Dry, Fire Pumps, Pre‑action, Deluge, Antifreeze, backflows, etc. - Cross‑train for additional licensing duties to obtain multiple licenses.
- Inspect fire alarm systems similarly with NFPA compliance.
- Inspect extinguishers, hood suppression systems, and special hazard units as per license.
- Lead large inspections and special projects with multiple technicians or solo.
- Assist or fill in for the inspection manager as required.
- Mentor lower‑level technicians toward additional licenses and knowledge.
- Adhere to the company mission, core values, and business plan.
- First priority is safety – submit JSAs, toolbox talks, audit forms, etc., on time.
- Report incidents and accidents accurately and promptly.
- Accountable for all safety initiatives, safe driving, Stop Work Authority, and maintenance of equipment.
- Complete required training and submit accurate timesheets.
- Maintain professional appearance and effective communication.
- Optimize production efficiency and inventory management.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to feedback.
- Maintain quality control to reduce return trips and warranty work.
- Work overtime, out‑of‑town or on‑call as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NICET level for trade and applicable/current TX Dept of Insurance license.
- Strong understanding of installation materials, tools, and NFPA standards.
- Current clean TX driver’s license, good driving record, and criminal background check.
- Sprinkler – Minimum 3 years (install/service experience is a plus).
- Alarm – Minimum 3 years (install/service experience is a plus).
- Extinguisher – Minimum 2 years.
- Hood Suppression – Minimum 2 years.
- Special Hazard – Minimum 1 year; must have FAL license and work experience.
- Follow direction from upper management.
- Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork.
- Maintain vehicle and tools per policy and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Perform testing and maintenance, identify deficiencies, and provide corrective action.
- Work individually or in a team, manage time under pressure.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail; maintain clean and safe work environment.
- Comply with core values and safety handbook.
