Location: Sarasota

Field Technician – Sarasota, FL – Pumps at Opifex‑Synergy

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper functioning on the job site or in the shop.
  • Performs routine equipment clean‑up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre‑delivery inspections.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment and completes all paperwork on the assigned equipment.
  • Participates in all training programs directed by the Manager.
  • Brings to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment, or vehicle that is not serviceable or unsafe.
  • Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations.
  • Completes basic computer tasks including work orders, parts lookup, and communication via email.
  • Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
  • Aligns workflow with the schedule.
  • Manages all on‑site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions.
  • Produces timely and detailed service reports.
  • Operates vehicle safely and uses field automation systems.
  • Follows all company procedures and protocols.
  • Cooperates with the technical team and shares information across the organization.
  • Understands customer requirements and makes appropriate recommendations and briefings.
  • Builds positive relationships with customers.
  • Exhibits strong teamwork.
  • Is willing to train and assist other team members with difficult or lengthy repairs.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Proven field service experience.
  • Own tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.

Work Environment
  • Consistent with construction environments and equipment yards.
  • Outdoor exposure to elements.
Travel Required
  • Required to travel to various locations for training classes and seminars.
  • Drive to vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairs.
  • Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites.
Physical Demands

Must be physically able to work on job sites for extensive periods, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, squat, crouch, and reach. Must work in extreme conditions, overnight, on weekends, and be available for on‑call work.
