Sovran Building Systems Inc. is seeking experienced Masons to join our Field Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled tradespeople with a focus on block and brick masonry to contribute to high-quality residential and commercial projects. As a Mason, you’ll work on a variety of structures, ensuring workmanship meets safety, quality, and productivity standards.

US

Enforce safety rules and regulations on and off the job site.

Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stones for walls, facades, chimneys, and similar structures.

Read and interpret blueprints and project drawings.

Use chalk lines, plumb bobs, measuring tapes, and levels for accurate layout.

Mix mortar and prepare masonry materials.

Erect and properly use scaffolding.

Measure and cut materials per job specifications.

Lay masonry using appropriate bonding patterns (e.g., running bond, stack bond).

Inspect own and crew’s work for compliance and quality.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments, including lifting 40+ lb materials.

Work from heights, and engage in standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Minimum of 3 years masonry experience (block masonry experience is critical).

Strong understanding of masonry practices and layout methods.

Ability to read construction drawings.

No formal education requirements.

No licenses or certifications required.

Must be physically capable of performing strenuous work in variable outdoor conditions.
