** Dade City, FL  
** Pay Rate:** **$28–$32 per hour
** Waste Connections, Inc. has immediate openings for a high-energy
** Diesel Mechanic
** to join our team at our hauling location in Dade City, FL. Previous waste industry experience is a huge plus!
*
* Schedule:

*** Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
* Half-day every other Saturday
** Compensation & Benefits:
*** Competitive pay: **$28–$32 per hour

* Duties & Responsibilities:

*** Perform repairs and preventative maintenance services
* Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
* Utilize vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and assign repairs
* Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software
* Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
* Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment
* Respond to emergency breakdowns with service calls
* Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
** Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
*** Requires heavy lifting (50+ lbs), pushing, and pulling
* Work may be indoors in a shop or outdoors for roadside repairs
* Must follow basic safety precautions when working in tight positions or handling greasy tools
*
* Minimum Requirements:

*** Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred (or ability to obtain)
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
* Must provide own tools; welding/fabrication experience is a plus
* Computer experience is a plus
