As a Direct Support Professional
, you’ll provide individualized support to help the people we serve live safely and successfully in their homes and communities. You’ll assist with daily living activities, promote independence, provide guidance and supervision, and help ensure each individual’s health, safety, and well‑being.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assist with daily living activities, including meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, and personal hygiene
• Support individuals in developing greater independence and maximizing their quality of life
• Provide supervision, guidance, verbal prompting, and physical assistance as needed for health and safety
• Transport and accompany individuals to community activities, appointments, events, restaurants, movies, festivals, and other activities of their choice
• Encourage individuals to develop relationships and become active members of their communities
• Assist with critical thinking, judgment, and decision‑making related to personal health and safety
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, crisis situations, or potential crisis situations in accordance with RHD policies and procedures
• Provide supervision and guidance to help individuals build skills, confidence, and independence
• Document services, interactions, and activities according to organizational requirements
• Communicate consistently with individuals, supervisors, and Supported Living Coaches regarding health, safety, and support needs
