WSFS Bank is seeking a talented and motivated Word Press Developer to help us manage and scale our digital properties. You’ll work on a variety of web projects, from custom theme and plugin development to performance optimization and deployment.
The Word Press Software Developer is responsible for design, development, code review, and unit testing from user requirements of custom software applications for existing business and new lines of business. The incumbent will develop modular and reusable code components following best practices and standards and interact with users to understand business requirements/process flows and translate into technical requirements for assigned projects and job requests.
In addition, the incumbent will collaborate with other developers, project managers, customers, database and system administrators for end to end application development and implementation and participate in design and code review sessions.

Job Responsibilities:- Develop, customize, and maintain Word Press websites and themes.
- Work within the WPEngine hosting environment for staging, deployment, and site optimization.
- Implement responsive, SEO-friendly, and accessible front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript.
- Build and modify custom Word Press plugins and integrate third-party APIs as needed.
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
- Monitor site performance, conduct regular updates, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Use Git for version control and manage code deployments in a team environment.
- Implement security best practices and maintain site integrity.
- Contribute to technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Word Press development.
- Word Press certifications are a definite plus (Knowledge Pillars (WCD, WCA), Tosa, Yoast, and VIP Learn)
- Proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Strong experience with custom themes and plugin development.
- Familiar with REST APIs and headless Word Press architecture.
- Understanding of SEO principles and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Familiarity with tools such as Git, WP-CLI, Composer, and modern dev workflows.
- Excellent debugging and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
- Experience working with WPEngine is a plus.
Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
