Hammock Creek Golf Club is seeking a skilled and experienced Head Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and care of our golf course. This is a unique opportunity to lead one of South Florida’s well-known golf properties while working in a collaborative club environment with members, guests, and local ownership.
About Hammock Creek Golf ClubHammock Creek Golf Club, a semi-private golf club, is well-known for its centerpiece Jack Nicklaus Legacy Design® golf course. Opened in July of 1996, the championship eighteen-hole layout hosts 60,000 rounds per year, including several local, state, and national competitions. Locally owned and operated, the Club takes tremendous pride in being a part of the South Florida golf community.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf course management, a strong background in turfgrass maintenance, and the ability to lead a dedicated team. As the Golf Course Superintendent, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of our golf course and ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
Responsibilities- Implement and execute effective turfgrass maintenance programs to ensure the health and appearance of the golf course and practice facilities, and clubhouse landscape.
- Monitor and manage irrigation systems for optimal water usage and turf health.
- Oversee mowing, aerification, topdressing, chemical applications, equipment maintenance, and other cultural practices to maintain course conditions.
- Manage and maintain bunkers, greens, fairways, and other course features to meet or exceed established standards.
- Lead, train, mentor, and motivate a team of 12-15 groundskeeping staff.
- Collaborate closely with the local ownership team and senior staff to align course conditions with the club goals and event schedules.
- Schedule and coordinate daily tasks to ensure efficient and effective course maintenance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, environmental stewardship, and labor practices.
- Assist in the development and management of the annual budget for the golf course maintenance department.
- Develop with ownership team yearly capital needs and long-range agronomic strategies.
- Monitor expenses and work within budgetary constraints.
- Implement and promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices on the golf course.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in golf course management.
- Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA) class A, preferred.
- Pesticide application certification, required.
- Valid driver's license, required.
