your specific responsibilitiescoordinates, participates, and directs the maintenance activity of the chemical herbicide program and/or the assembly and erection of highway signs as needed. Assists in selecting materials, supplies, equipment, inspecting, planning workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees. Maintains records of operation. Prepares and maintains daily paperwork such as crew activity reports and daily vehicle check lists.
upon receipt of the required cdl instructional permit or license; operates vehicles and a variety of medium and heavy equipment. Performs preventative maintenance and pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment operated. Performs light maintenance and servicing work in connection with any type of equipment operated and assists in the repairs of this equipment; checks and adds fluids, checks/adjusts brakes, maintains proper air pressure in all tires, etc.
performs manual labor in the maintenance of highways, bridges and other highway facilities while utilizing a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
motivates crew members to improve the quality of work performed and assists in the evaluation of others. Communicates on a regular basis with employees both individually and in crew meetings. Trains crew members in basic temporary traffic control (maintenance of traffic).
