Shift: 1st Shift – 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Assistant TechIn this role, you will provide services to the world’s largest telecommunications and cable providers. The ideal team members should have excellent attention to detail, strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team. Availability to work overtime to support customer needs is a plus. This position is responsible for using soldering equipment to repair, modify, and change parts on electronic circuit boards and STB units.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze failed phones according to established methods and procedures
- Resolve technical issues within time schedules and provide break‑and‑fix solutions using OEM standards
- Dis‑assemble and re‑assemble cell phones into a good cosmetic housing
- Remove LCD from back‑housing and replace with a new one
- Remove motherboard and battery
- Replace screws and make component replacements
- Remain flexible to perform other assigned responsibilities as needed
- ESD knowledge from previous job and ability to pass an ESD exam
- Complete understanding of phone components
- Detail oriented with quality‑assurance focus to deliver quality repairs
- Basic trouble‑shooting skills and rework experience of cell phones
- Basic computer skills and ability to document repairs on cell phones
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by customers
- Ability to operate test equipment
- Ability to read schematics
- Good manual dexterity
- Possess soldering and desoldering skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Can perform both surface‑mount and thru‑hole soldering techniques and operate automated repair equipment (BGA machine)
- Computer skills are a must for accurate data entry of completed units
