Overview

We are an Anglican church in Flower Mound, TX that exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ who are rooted, restful, and relational as we pursue communion with God, fellowship in the Church, and faithful presence in the world. The Music Minister is a vital leader in our ministry, as worship is foundational to who we are and music is essential to our worship.

We enjoy a blended musical diction of classic hymns (usually according to a contemporary setting) and appropriate contemporary praise and worship music. Our music always seeks to lift up our voices corporately to glorify the LORD with appropriate beauty, reverence, and joy, according to the arc of the liturgy and the season of the church. Our Music Minister helps plan and lead our services every week.

This person will not only lead music, but will help build, equip and oversee our team of volunteer assisting musicians. Our minister also receives one Sunday off per month to worship in the pew. Requirements

Is a baptized Christian, committed to orthodox Christian faith and practice and a holiness of life befitting a minister of the Gospel, with a willingness and ability to serve within the Anglican tradition and our parish vision, mission and values. (We strongly desire our Music Minister to be confirmed as an Anglican at the soonest possible opportunity, if not already.)

Is a gifted vocalist and instrumentalist (preferably, either piano or guitar).

Is a skilled music director with the ability to lead hymns, songs, and liturgical settings.

Provides effective spiritual, artistic and administrative leadership of the music ministry team.

Demonstrates authentic joy and passion for Christian worship.

Willingness to learn and utilize the Planning Center platform.

Willingness to perform other ministry duties as assigned in keeping with the candidate’s gifts and calling.

Responsibilities

Effectively utilizes the Planning Center platform to schedule and plan music for our worship services, consistently scheduling teams at least one month in advance.

Is present on Sunday all but 4 weeks per year and available for occasional special services according to the church calendar. (There are approximately 57 worship services per year (including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Christmas Eve). Our Music Minister is expected not to lead but be present in the pew one Sunday per month and to delegate at least 2 services during Holy Week to other music leaders.)

Attends weekly staff meetings, seasonal planning meetings and staff retreats.
