Responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects.

• Draft and prepare complete sets of accurate and high-quality structure plans
• Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing Open Bridge Modeler and/or Micro Station
• Makes basic engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications
• Make quality control corrections to contract drawings
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in Micro Station and/or Open Bridge Modeler
• Knowledge of design and drafting procedures

• Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
• Experience with NCDOT guidelines, procedures and plan production is a plus
• Candidates must be self-motivated, learn rapidly, and possess a strong desire to excel professionally

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
