We are looking for a detail-oriented paralegal with at least 3-5 years’ civil litigation experience to hit the ground running in our boutique law practice. Our paralegals manage calendars and case deadlines, conduct discovery, draft pleadings, meet with clients, and complete projects with a self-starter attitude and a high level of attention to detail. We are looking for a detail-oriented paralegal with at least 3-5 years’ civil litigation experience to hit the ground running in our boutique law practice. Our paralegals manage calendars and case deadlines, conduct discovery, draft pleadings, meet with clients, and complete projects with a self-starter attitude and a high level of attention to detail. Responsibilities:
- Conscientious. Care intensely about keeping attorneys and clients organized so no one misses a deadline or makes a mistake.
- Be dependable. Build trust with attorneys by ensuring smooth management of cases from start to finish. Communicate professionally about deadline management. Complete each task on-time and free of errors.
- Stay organized. Work directly with one or two attorneys to balance busy schedules including trial deadlines, case schedule, and communications with clients, court, and opposing counsel.
- Build rapport with clients by listening, projecting calmness, and over communicating important details and deadlines.
- Save yourself time. Create checklists and document procedures that save you and your team time.
- Create a great first impression for the firm when greeting new potential clients over the phone.
- Get new clients up to speed quickly. Run conflict checks and direct new clients to the appropriate person.
- Demonstrate your writing skills when drafting correspondence to clients, pleadings, and orders.
- High standards. Expects personal performance and team performance to be nothing short of the best.
- Organization. Does not let important deadlines slip through the cracks, reminds attorney of impending deadlines, and diligently maintain online calendar. Flexibility in prioritizing and balancing emergency tasks with ongoing to-do list.
- Work ethic. Possesses a strong willingness to work hard and occasional long hours to get the job done. Has a track record of working hard.
- Communication. Speaks and writes clearly and articulately while being sensitive to clients. Communicates professionally with team regarding balancing multiple deadlines. Maintains this standard in all forms of written communications including email.
- Honesty/integrity. Does not cut corners ethically. Earns trust and maintains confidences. Does what is right, not just what is politically expedient. Speaks plainly and truthfully.
- Calm under pressure. Maintains stable performance when under heavy pressure or stress.
