The RoleThe Store Lead is the primary leader on site during their shifts and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the store. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing leadership role that requires calm decision‑making, strong judgment, and comfort working independently.

, allowing Store Leads to focus on quality customer interactions, operational excellence, and maintaining a composed, professional environment rather than managing high‑volume foot traffic. Success in this role comes from attention to detail, presence, and consistency.
This position is designed as a long‑term leadership role
, not a transitional or training position. Store Leads are entrusted with full store responsibility and are expected to uphold Velvet Box standards at all times.
Oversee daily store operations and serve as the primary leader on site
Lead the sales floor and model elevated, consultative customer service
Direct, coach, and hold associates accountable to service and performance standards
Open and close the store following all operational and security procedures
Manage cash handling, deposits, inventory processes, and shipment receiving
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards
Uphold discretion, professionalism, and respectful communication at all times
Make confident, sound decisions independently while representing the Velvet Box brand
Prior leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to manage responsibility independently
Retail, hospitality, or customer‑facing experience required
Confident, clear communicator comfortable giving direction and feedback
Organized, dependable, and consistent in follow‑through
Comfortable being accountable for store standards, safety, and outcomes
Able to work independently in a steady‑paced environment
Availability for evenings and weekends
