Frozen Food Manager – Tom Thumb Supermarket
Fort Worth, TX | $80,000.00 - $95,000.00
Responsibilities and Duties- Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast and friendly customer service.
- Assists customers by making product suggestions.
- Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in‑store intercom announcements and one‑on‑one customer interaction.
- Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately, receives and appropriately resolves customer complaints, and reports to the Store Director as needed.
- Rotates and discards outdated or spoiled product, and ensures cleanliness of the work area and department.
- Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays.
- Ensures that merchandise is correctly priced and displayed, and that shelves are clean and properly maintained.
- May be asked to assist in other areas of the Grocery Department.
- Follows and maintains department standards and requirements.
- Applies working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
- Ensures proper code dating for all products within the department is enforced.
- Assists with physical inventory conducted every six months.
- Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness, maintaining inventory levels per division directives; stocks and rotates product.
- Supervises the processing of all reclamation and maintains orderly and in‑stock conditions in the back room and all Frozen Food Department area.
- Manages shrink and cost control.
- Implements correct product preparation techniques and operates related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine.
- Performs receiving duties, including breaking down loads, verifying orders with invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking and rotating product; adheres to product temperature and storage guidelines and follows proper packaging techniques. Processes administrative paperwork and maintains accurate department records.
- Accurately completes, maintains, and monitors daily log sheets, sales, labor, and other required paperwork and logs.
- Ensures that proper temperature levels for product are maintained and complies with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company code‑dating policies.
- Complies with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Ensures safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display area, including code‑date compliance as required.
- Implements emergency procedures in the event of equipment and computer software malfunctions.
- Operates computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product.
- Complies with and ensures compliance with company grooming standards and dress code.
