The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing all aspects of bakery operations, including production, merchandising, sales, food safety, inventory management, and team leadership. This position helps ensure the department delivers high-quality products, exceptional customer service, and a clean, safe, and profitable operation while maintaining company standards.

• Assist in managing daily bakery department operations.
• Ensure bakery products are prepared, packaged, displayed, and stocked according to company standards.
• Maintain attractive product presentation and proper signage.
• Monitor product freshness, quality, and inventory levels.
• Support production planning to meet customer demand while minimizing shrink.

• Assist with training, coaching, and developing bakery associates.
• Provide direction and support to team members during daily operations.
• Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as manager-on-duty for the department when the Bakery Manager is absent.
• Assist with performance management and accountability processes.

• Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
• Assist customers with product selection, special orders, and bakery requests.
• Promote bakery programs, seasonal items, and special promotions.

• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.

• Assist with ordering and inventory control processes.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous bakery, food service, retail, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Basic math and inventory management knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Food safety certification may be required based on company policy.
