ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) Lead Teacher in the high school setting plays a pivotal role in supporting English Learners (ELs) and ensuring program compliance with educational standards. The Lead Teacher assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s ESOL program, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

teaching and/or co‑teaching ESOL classes; providing instructional support and professional development; acting as a liaison between the ESOL department and other school stakeholders; facilitating communication between the school and EL families; representing the ESOL program in meetings such as IEPs and retention committees; overseeing screening, testing, and placement of ELs; maintaining accurate records and documentation for compliance purposes. Candidate must be detail‑oriented and organized.

Qualifications

• PSC Teaching Certificate in a high school content area (English Language Arts preferred)
• ESOL Endorsement preferred
• Experience working with English Language Learners desired
