OverviewThis is an experienced athletic training position with clinical responsibilities to one or more orthopedic physicians under the direction of the Sports Medicine or Orthopedic Clinic Manager.

- Under the direction of the Sports Medicine or Orthopedic Clinic Manager, perform clinical duties as an experienced athletic trainer.
- Provide athletic training services for Emory Orthopedics or Sports Medicine under the direction of a designated orthopedic physician.
- Conduct clinical evaluation, history, and physical examination on each patient.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies under the direction of a physician.
- Deliver educational responsibilities specific to each patient's needs.
- Maintain documentation of each patient visit following electronic database guidelines.
- Assure timely response to patient phone calls.
- Handle general office duties and tasks assigned by physicians or clinic manager.
- Identify, develop, or revise policies and procedures related to sports medicine patients.
- Implement clinic initiatives for patient safety, compliance, and staff development.
- Assist with physician research projects and demonstrate progression on specific projects.
- Cover community outreach events as required.
- Serve as a mentor for the Athletic Training Residency program, teaching and educational sessions.
- Provide clinical support for call center, front desk, and administrative personnel.
- Collaborate with Emory Orthopedic and Spine Center teams.
- Attend ≥ 75% of educational programming offered by Emory Sports Medicine.
- Maintain participation in professional activities and organizations.
- Nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC)
- Georgia state licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in a health related profession
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including medical terminology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association
- Experience with clinical evaluation and educational skills expected of an athletic trainer for Emory Healthcare.

Max 25lbs. Lifting up to 25 lbs. Occasional to frequent standing & walking. Close eye work. Physical demands may vary.
Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes, communicable diseases, electrical shock, hazardous temperatures, and shift work or travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment may be required.
