This position is responsible for assembling large compressor parts prepared by the pre-assembly process into fully built compressors.
Reports ToAssembly Supervisor
StatusFull time, Nonexempt
Duties & Tasks- Follow all prescribed and standard SAFETY regulations including wearing PPE at all appropriate times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to and improving upon 5S standards.
- Perform the operations of bearing pressing, stator pressing, mechanical assembly and wiring for in process compressors.
- Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment, hand tools, workstations, etc.
- Ensure the use of only approved tools and processes during the assembly operation.
- Perform inspections of parts and workmanship to ensure the quality of finished compressors.
- Engage in efforts with coworkers and management to continuously improve the assembly processes.
- Perform assembly operation for sub-assemblies (pistons, shaft seals, etc.)
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
- This job is performed in the assembly/production floor. This role requires the personnel to wear PPE of safety glasses and safety shoes at all times. Hearing protection is required in specific areas.
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Competencies:
- General knowledge of manufacturing work environment and associated safety practices.
- Mechanical inclination and/or experience using air powered hand tools.
- Acute awareness of detail to maintain high quality standards.
- Ability to read and recognize parts and part numbers and assemble them in the correct orientation/location/sequence as prescribed by work instructions and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Able to work overtime for preventative maintenance activities.
- Be on time and daily.
- Ability to effectively meet and communicate with colleagues, the public and vendors.
- Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment.
- Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills.
- Ability to work collectively with others within the organization.
