Position: STRUCTURAL STEEL ESTIMATOR

Structural Steel Estimator

Steel Service is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects by accurately assessing costs and preparing comprehensive estimates. Key Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate cost estimates for structural steel components.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Monitor and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes and new information.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection processes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and estimating software such as Steel 2000 or Fab Suite is preferred.
