HDR is currently in search of a Transportation Hydraulics EIT/Coordinator in our Transportation Business Group. Join our transportation and water resources team and help deliver projects that improve communities across the region. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical skills in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage design, floodplain modeling, and bridge hydraulics while working alongside experienced engineers on a variety of transportation and water resource projects.
WhatYou ll Do
- Support the planning and design of roadway, highway, bridge, transit, aviation, and water resources projects.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including drainage design, stormwater management, floodplain modeling, bridge hydraulics, and scour evaluations.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, drainage maps, and design documentation.
- Develop plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates using BIM/CADD platforms.
- Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Participate in site visits, field investigations, and drainage assessments.
- Support river and stream restoration, flood risk reduction, and watershed management projects.
- Collaborate with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions for municipal, state, and federal clients.
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain it.
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources.
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative team environment.
- Self-motivated to complete tasks and learn new skills
- Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GIS, Open Roads, Micro Station, Civil 3D, MS Office Suite or similar software is a plus.

- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or similar field
