Position OverviewThis position reports to the Texas Regional Manager and must reside within the assigned region and work from the Ennis, TX office. The Regional Safety Coordinator will provide overall safety leadership, professional knowledge, and expertise for the ISO Services occupational and process safety program for the facilities/projects in their region. The position will be responsible for developing innovative strategies to ensure operational excellence regarding corporate standards and compliance with applicable regulations.
KeyDuties and Responsibilities
- Lead operational excellence programs and initiatives for the region, including but not limited to occupational safety and process safety.
- Work with ISO Services Safety Manager to implement company-wide safety strategies.
- Work with Texas Regional Manager to determine jobsite risk. Assign safety responsibility for the jobsite. Add dedicated safety personnel to jobsites on fulltime or part-time basis as needed. This first dedicated jobsite safety professional will be the Regional Safety Coordinator.
- Work with HR, Texas Regional Manager, and ISO Services Safety Manager to recruit additional safety professionals as required.
- Lead Safety audit team (schedule audits, lead quarterly calls, prepare reports, track action items, lead audits).
- Work with field supervisors and project managers to promote project safety.
- Develop, implement, and maintain ISO Services safety guidelines, policies, processes, and procedures for all operating facilities/projects in the region (PSM, RMP, and non-regulated).
- Maintain close working relationships with field leaders to ensure that programs meet the intended requirements and promote the ISO Services philosophy.
- Develop and track appropriate safety KPl's (leading and lagging metrics) and communicate on a regular basis to management teams.
- Oversee incident management incident investigations to ensure correct categorization of actual and potential risks and share lessons learned for the assigned region.
- Organize and lead teams for safety assessments and coordinate compliance audits.
- Provide support for the Management of Change (MOC) program and perform Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR's) as necessary.
- Conduct site assessments of informal and formal variety, providing sharp technical and professional services to assigned site locations in a manner that ensures compliance and enhances EHS Management systems, developing a positive safety culture and function within ISO Services core values.
- Promote, track, and follow up on near-miss items with corrective actions.
- Oversees and assists in the development of job hazard analysis, lockout procedures, and confined space entry.
- Serve as a technical advisor and provide training and guidance to employees.
- Perform visits to customers' facilities/projects in all regions as necessary.
- Participate in monthly staff calls and share actionable items and activities.
- Participate in Corporate HSE training activities and communicate applicable information.
- Implement applicable best management practices to identify and mitigate hazards proactively.
- Attend conferences and training as needed to enhance knowledge of environmental, health, safety, security, and process safety requirements and industrial practices.
- Strive to develop good working relationships with all co-workers, customers, and associates.
- Serve as incident management coordinator.
- Lead efforts to complete yearly safety goals within the region.
- Up to 50% travel.
- Take on additional duties and projects as directed by the Regional Manager.
- High School Diploma/GED:
This is the basic entry-level requirement. An associate or bachelor's Degree Is preferred in fields such as occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental health, engineering, or related areas. - Essential Certifications - OSHA Training - (1) OSHA 30-Hour Construction and (2) OSHA 500 (Construction Industry Trainer)
- Minimum Experience Requirements: A minimum of five years in safety, risk management, leadership, or a related field, as well as five years of experience in an industrial process plant environment (terminal/refinery/chemical operations or another relevant field)
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean record
- Must have a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
