Job Overview

The RN ASC Part‑Time role at GI Alliance involves providing professional nursing care in a gastroenterology setting. The RN serves as the primary liaison between patients, staff, physicians, and assists with procedures and medication administration.

Responsibilities
  • Verify patient consent for procedures and maintain confidentiality.
  • Obtain and document health history, vital signs, and assess patients.
  • Provide nursing care based on practice guidelines and federal/state regulations.
  • Document patient assessment and interventions using the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain and review patient records, organize documentation accurately.
  • Respond to incoming patient procedure‑related phone calls.
  • Assist patients and physicians during procedures and understand procedure equipment.
  • Learn scope reprocessing techniques utilized by the facility.
  • Know preparation and administration of all medications utilized.
  • Monitor patients and provide pre‑ and post‑procedure teaching.
  • Attend and actively participate in department meetings and in‑services.
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned.
Qualifications
  • RN degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Professional nursing experience, preferably in gastroenterology and IV placement.
  • Current state registered nurse license.
  • Current Basic Life Support certificate.
Performance Requirements
  • Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, and community resources.
  • Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies.
  • Familiarity with state nursing law, practice guidelines, and policies.
  • Knowledge of chart documentation requirements and federal/state laws.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
  • Skill in applying professional nursing principles to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, and care coordination.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in initiating appropriate crisis interventions and emergency response.
  • Skill in patient triage in person and on the phone.
  • Ability to read and interpret physicians orders.
  • Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages, injections, and document results.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
