Blade Construction LLC is looking for a skilled, hands-on Diesel Mechanic to join our growing construction team. In this essential role, you'll handle everything from diagnostics and troubleshooting to full repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty diesel engines and construction equipment. You’ll work both in our shop and directly in the field to keep our fleet operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Blade Construction LLC is a family-owned Marine and Heavy Civil Construction company based in Baldwin County, AL. Specializing in shoreline infrastructure, dredging, stormwater, and bulkhead installation, we primarily serve government and federal clients across the Gulf Coast. Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy‑duty diesel engines and heavy construction equipment.

Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, propulsion, and drivetrain systems.

Perform full‑service repairs on engines, fuel, cooling, and braking systems.

Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) to minimize equipment downtime.

Read schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.

Maintain accurate documentation, service records, and logs for each repair.

Uphold safety protocols including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and shop safety standards.

Respond to urgent field‑service calls and perform mobile repairs as needed.

Keep shop and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Support fellow crew members when needed to meet deadlines or assist with general tasks.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic in a construction or heavy equipment environment.

Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities across various equipment systems.

Valid Driver’s License required.

Must be able to qualify for a TWIC card (company will assist with application if hired).

Willingness to be hands‑on and assist beyond mechanic duties when needed.

Familiarity with construction equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders, haul trucks).

Strong background in hydraulics and electrical diagnostics.

Previous field‑repair experience on active job sites.
