Year 1 Teacher – Folkestone

Academics is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join one of our supportive partner primary schools in Folkestone, East Kent. This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about early learning and helping children make a confident start to their KS1 journey.

• Plan, deliver, and assess creative and engaging lessons tailored to Year 1 learners
• Build a nurturing, inclusive classroom where children feel safe, valued, and inspired
• Support early reading, writing, phonics, and numeracy development
• Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to enhance learning
• Encourage curiosity, early independence, and positive learning habits
• Communicate clearly and warmly with parents, carers, and colleagues

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / Early Careers Teacher (ECT) welcome
• Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
• Strong classroom management and excellent communication
• A patient, caring, and proactive teaching style
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
