Assistant Management Accountant

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Assistant Management Accountant to join the Holidays FP&A team. Reporting to the Finance Manager (FP&A), this role is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, management reporting and performance analysis across the Transport business, while also contributing to wider Holidays FP&A activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating financial and operational data into meaningful insight, supporting decision-making through robust analysis, forecasting and reporting.

This role requires you to work from our Folkestone office at least 3 times a week.

We have designated office space for colleagues in our Travel business, allowing us to collaborate and share success as a function. Our new Assistant Management Accountant for the Holiday business will be accountable for preparing monthly management accounts and performance reporting for the Transport business. Other accountabilities will include:

• Preparing month-end journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and intercompany recharges
• Investigating, understanding and explaining variances against forecast, budget and prior year
• Producing monthly finance packs and supporting analysis for business review meetings
• Presenting financial performance, key trends and business drivers to leadership teams
• Delivering clear commentary and insight to support decision-making and performance improvement
• Leading the preparation of forecasts and long-range planning submissions
• Supporting the development and maintenance of five-year financial plans, including P&L and KPI forecasting
• Monitoring financial performance against plan and identifying emerging risks and opportunities
• Providing forecasting inputs relating to chauffeur service cost allocations and recharges across Holidays and Cruise businesses
• Supporting the wider FP&A forecasting process as required
• Assessing the relative cost-effectiveness of operations, providing insight into performance trends and opportunities for optimisation
• Producing weekly margin analysis and performance reporting for Holidays business
• Investigating movements in trading margins versus forecast and prior periods
• Identifying and challenging anomalies within margin reporting
• Working closely with operational and MI teams to resolve cost irregularities to improve margin reporting accuracy
• Preparing monthly accruals and prepayments relating to overheads
• Supporting financial reporting and variance analysis across key overhead categories, including IT Opex, Property and Outsourced Services
• Contributing to continuous improvements in reporting, planning and financial processes

As our new Assistant Management Accountant, you will be part-qualified (ACCA or CIMA), be commercially aware and curious, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Whilst experience in the travel industry would be advantageous, we are open to considering candidates who are proactive, self‑motivated, and keen to develop in the role. You will also be able to demonstrate:
