Position: Senior IT Technician - Full-time

We are looking for a Senior IT Technician to join our Trust IT Services department. The primary objective of this role is to deliver high-quality IT support across Turner Schools, providing senior technical expertise and acting as an escalation point for complex issues.

This is a predominantly customer-facing role with regular on-site presence. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong technical knowledge and a commitment to high-quality customer service are essential.

The expected working hours will be defined in the contract; however, for guidance they will typically be between 8am–4pm
. The role will be based primarily at Folkestone Academy
, with regular travel to other schools within the Trust as required. You will work closely with on-site technicians and benefit from being part of a wider Trust IT Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide senior (3rd line) technical support for escalated IT issues
  • Install, configure and maintain ICT hardware, software and systems
  • Support and maintain network and security systems
  • Lead or support trust-wide IT projects and system improvements
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Trust’s ICT strategy
  • Maintain technical documentation and procedures
  • Mentor and support IT Technicians
  • Support staff and students with the effective use of ICT
  • Keep up to date with ICT developments and best practice
Qualifications and Experience
  • Significant experience supporting and maintaining ICT systems (education or multi-site experience preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365
  • Experience with network administration and security
  • Experience supporting or leading IT projects
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
