A well-established manufacturing business in Folkestone is seeking a driven and organised Procurement Coordinator / Procurement Officer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to play a vital role in supporting business operations, supplier relationships, and stock management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The RoleReporting into the Supply Chain / Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring materials and products are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on time to support production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and consumables
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently
- Negotiating pricing, lead times, and supplier contracts
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating stock replenishment
- Working closely with production, warehouse, and planning teams
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
- Resolving supplier issues and delivery discrepancies
- Producing procurement reports and maintaining accurate records
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience within a Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain role
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
- CIPS qualification or studying towards CIPS
- Experience with stock control and inventory management
- Knowledge of manufacturing supply chains and procurement best practices
- Salary up to GBP
36,000 per annum - Full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week
