Maintenance Person Nursing Home Salary: £15 £ 16 per hour (£31,200 £ 33,280 per annum)

Hours:

40 hours per week Our client, a well-established and welcoming nursing home, is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Person to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for elderly residents, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the nursing home, ensuring the building, grounds, and equipment are kept in excellent working order.

The role requires a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout the nursing home. Undertake basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general handyman duties. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently. Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements at all times. Maintain the safety, comfort, and appearance of the home for residents, visitors, and staff.

Liaise professionally with colleagues, contractors, and residents when required. Essential Skills & Experience Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, handyman, or building services role. Competence in basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general repairs. Good understanding of health and safety regulations. Ability to manage workloads effectively and work independently. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Good communication skills with a friendly and respectful manner, particularly when interacting with elderly residents.
