Transport Planner

Transport Planner Sunday - Wednesday 7.30am - 5.30pm - crossover day on Wednesday Above average salary of up to £40k DOE.

- UK average is c £37,000 On site Close-knit, high-performing team As a skilled Transport Planner you would make a real difference to the service that my client offer their customers, using your expert planning, negotiating and customer service skills. Our international multi-modal freight client are seeking an experienced Transport Planne r who has worked with container shipment imports and onward travel.

The fleet is 6 trucks and you'll take responsibility for Transport Planning a proportion of the 120 container onward travel per month. Along with using the owned fleet, there will be the requirement to make use of external providers to ensure smooth delivery for clients. 75% of imports go direct to client / supplier from the Port the rest comes back to the warehouse for breaking up, repacked and then moved onward to final destination.

Key tasks & experience:
Transport Planning Use of Transport Management Systems (TMS) and planning software. Excel for day to day task management and analysis of volumes Providing excellent customer services Input of each job onto Cargo Wise and Mandata Negotiating 3rd party supplier costs to ensure profitability Sourcing jobs during quieter times to ensure truck loads are maximised and limiting 'empties' Coordinating with colleagues to ensure the client receives 'best in class' service 2 stage interview on site in Hythe Transport Planner Transport Planning Logistics
