As the Southwest Regional Business Class (BC) Lead for Dams, Levees and Civil Works (DLCW), you will direct, coordinate, and ensure quality of work on dam, levee, civil works, and flood risk management projects across our Southwest region. Your role includes risk management for large‑scale, multi‑discipline projects, client and business class relationship building, project development, and contract preparation. You will mentor mid‑ and junior‑level staff and provide oversight on planning, design, inspection, and construction management of interior drainage, riverine flood risk management, dams and reservoirs, ecosystem restoration, drainage, and general site civil projects.
Responsibilities• Coordinate and facilitate multi‑disciplinary, multi‑benefit projects with high technical complexity.
• Build and maintain client and area business class relationships.
• Participate in project development and contract document preparation.
• Mentor mid‑ and junior‑level staff across disciplines to support quality project delivery.
• Provide oversight to various project types, including interior drainage, riverine flood risk management, dams, reservoirs, ecosystem restoration, drainage, and general site civil infrastructure.
• Coordinate regional projects with related disciplines (hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, GIS) and collaborate with regional and corporate BC practice leads and advisors.
• Reinforce the Quality Management Program (QMP) and assist with staff training as needed.
• Participate in the corporate management of the DLCW program and perform technical and quality reviews of projects beyond your geographic area.
• Coordinate with regional operations management and corporate business class leadership; review work scopes, work products, SOWs, contracts, and project pricing; and work with HDR legal, project managers, business group managers, and area managers on go/no‑go decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in a professional, architectural, engineering or closely related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Professional or engineering registration and related technical experience.
- Experience in the development and management of diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with regional directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.
- Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values.
- Active participation in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
- Active engagement in professional or industry associations.
- MS in civil, environmental or water resources engineering preferred.
- Fifteen (15) years of related experience.
- Experience as a task lead or project manager in a consulting business.
- Self‑starter, highly motivated, and team‑oriented.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and big‑picture analysis skills.
- Extensive experience designing and directing large complex multi‑discipline projects.
- Construction or construction administration experience for dam and levee projects.
- Strong technical writing, solid engineering background, and effective presentation skills.

Schedule:
Full‑time, Regular.
Compensation: {Nevada}: $154,350 - $220,550; {California}: $169,785 - $275,625.
