AboutThe Optician Position
Our new Optician will be a welcome addition to our team and family who is personable and welcoming to our patients. A passion for eyecare and general patient health is essential to providing the best experience we can. Ideally, the optician will have four (4) or more years’ experience in the optical industry, preferably in an optical store, optometry, or ophthalmology office.

- Ensuring a smooth patient transition from exam to optical.
- Interpreting and reiterating doctor recommendations.
- Completing full-frame selection from fitting to lifestyle needs, including lens selection and lens coatings.
- Greeting patients and managing office flow.
- Performing frame repairs, adjustments, eyeglass inspections, troubleshooting, and dispensing.
- Accurately calculating insurance co‑pays and overages based on vision insurance (VSP, Eye Med, Superior Vision, etc.) and explaining fees to patients.
- Authorizing and billing insurance claims.
- Verifying glasses prescriptions and notifying patients for dispensing.
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Maintaining office aesthetics and organization.
Monday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm.
