We are seeking an Experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team, must have at least 3 years or more of Family Law experience as a litigator. This is an in-person full time, Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM role located at our Folsom office. The role of our Attorney is to retain clients and manage cases. Every Associate must be comfortable working under a stressful environment and possess an exceptional ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain organization and composure.
The Associate will perform legal work involved in the identification of legal issues, recommendations of appropriate action, resolution of legal problems, interpretation and application of laws, rules, regulations, and other legal authorities; go to and from court, provide legal advice, conduct legal research, writing, develop case plans, case strategy, analyzes and prepares opinions, legal documents, memoranda, attend and conduct trials, discovery, interviews clients and witnesses, gathers facts and retrieves information, drafts and analyzes legal documents and collects, complies and utilizes technical information, to make recommendations to clients and assigns out to staff additional administrative legal work.
You must be able to work autonomously and be able to come in to hit the ground running. You must have trial/litigation experience and be able to maintain a full caseload with hitting your billable metrics of a minimum of 5 hours per day.
- Prepare stipulations, briefs, motions, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research
- Prepare for and attend legal proceedings
- Divide marital assets
- Provide legal counsel
- Negotiate on behalf of clients
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records
- Supervise paralegals and administrative assistants
- Able to conduct and manage trials
- Prepares and processes legal documents and papers, such as summons, subpoenas, initial pleadings, discovery, PDD's/FDD's, motions, and pretrial motions/judgements
- Records all time for billing/invoicing of clients
- Travels to and from court houses/hearings as needed
- Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
- Maintains a full caseload which is typically 50-65 cases.
- Meets their required amount of billables per day, i.e. 5 billable hours per day
- Willing to practice in different counties
- Successful completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school and bar exam
- Ability to represent both parties (Protected and Restrained)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to best serve clients
