Software Test Engineer

On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Software Test Engineer for a contract opportunity in Folsom, CA.

Debug & Support Engineer of an advanced software automation environment supporting firmware and driver continuous integration testing. These capabilities primarily employ Python and wx Python scripts. Duties include development to requirements/acceptance criteria, unit testing, debugging/support, and collaboration with firmware/driver developers and test technicians. The engineer will be part of an Agile Scrum team working on bi-weekly sprints, involved in debugging, analysis, and reproduction of complex test failures to help isolate faults.

• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms
• Experience with object-oriented software design and development
• Proficiency in Python scripting
• Prefer experience with GUI development
• Expertise in Windows and Linux
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes
• Experience with automated test environments is highly desirable
• Knowledge of storage technologies (SATA/SCSI/PCIe) and drivers is a plus

• Effective verbal communication in team discussions and meetings
• Clear and concise written communication, including requirements and design specifications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
